What is Self-awareness?
Self-awareness is a perception of your personality, including strengths, weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs, motivation, and emotions. Self-awareness allows you to understand other people, how they perceive you, your attitude and your responses to them in the moment.
Self-awareness means knowing ones self at a deep level. Deep awareness includes understanding ourselves. No one is perfect and a deep understanding of ourselves, our fears, the things, which excite us, can all help us to live in the greater world and in harmony with others.
The Importance of Self-Awareness:
This is the first step in being true to ones self. It requires empathy, patience, strength, humility, and love.Of course, self-awareness is a big part of both therapy and philosophy.
Self-awareness is important to relationships, and it is something you are in complete control of. It can feel difficult and overwhelming to try and increase awareness of something that feels so automatic and deeply ingrained.
The self-aware manager is able to think from the others perspective, which helps in people relationships, communications, and decision-making.
Why Develop Self Awareness?
Self-awareness is the first step in creating what you want and mastering your life. Where you focus your attention, your emotions, reactions, personality and behavior determine where you go in life. It also allows you to take control of your emotions, behavior, and personality so you can make changes you want. As you develop self-awareness you are able to make changes in the thoughts and interpretations you make in your mind.
How to Become More Self Aware?
First steps towards becoming more self-aware is ask yourself these questions:
Who am I?
What do I love to do?
Which fears do I have about my life and what can I do about it?
Who do I love in my life and why?
Which things give me the most joy?
What is most important to me?
Why dont I dare what I truly love?
Why is this happening to me?
